Idol was totally bunk tonight.
No one sang a song from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Seriously, guys… wtf? Instead, people sang songs from Phantom of the Opera, which isn’t bad, but it’s so overdone. Ugh. The only one who did a Phantom song justice was Mr. Archuletta. His remix of “Think of Me” was actually good.
***But - is it me, or did he forget some of the words halfway through the song? I swear (and my roommate agrees) he was mumbling in the middle of one of the verses.
And WHY ON EARTH did Jason sing a song from Cats? CATS?! COME ON… (Lame)
My girl, Carly, totally rocked it out with Jesus Christ Superstar (I’m so proud). I know Carly won’t win, but she’s still my favorite girl.
Another thing, why did 4 of the 6 sing slow songs? No one likes slow, boring songs… Which leads me to Ms. Brooke White, who TOTALLY crashed and burned (you just can’t stop and restart a song). She creeps me out a little when she sings, so I wouldn’t mind seeing her leave.
Syesha wins the “most enjoyable song” award. It was pretty hot. I’m surprised she made it off the piano she was standing on while wearing such a tight dress. Congratulations to her for not flashing anyone on live television.
Closing out the show was “Forehead Boy”, David Cook. I can’t stop staring at his forehead while he’s on stage. It’s so large… Of course, he was lame and sang a Phantom song (which also turned out lame, in my opinion). He probably won’t get kicked off tomorrow, but he needs to not sing lame songs anymore.
So kids, the moral of the story is: don’t sing lame songs. SING JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT. I’m pretty sure “Close Every Door” is one of the greatest songs ever written.

I’m totally on board with you on this one! I think Brook should get the boot- her cutsie face is getting old fast. I also hate David, and his forehead. He’s full of himself.
And I love Carly- she is awesome!! I will buy her CD whether she wins or not :)

Well it’s the day after the results show, so of course I am shocked and horrified. Somehow Jason and Brooke managed to escape the bottom 2. Those were 2 of the worst (Brooke’s was probably the worst) performances I’ve ever seen on American Idol. And Carly went home! What is that?? She was so good, and she sang JCS! I’m a big David Cook fan (despite his forehead), and I can’t stand Little David A. anymore. He is the male incarnation of Melinda Doolittle, but not as good of a singer. He is a good singer if you like slow, adult contemporary, early 90s ballads, but I would never ever ever buy his cd.
